If you have not read the first Welcome Packet, please do so before reading on. If you have any questions or comments, please ask your Lead Facilitator, CJ Ananda (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Training Flow - During your 3 week stay, there will be 3 cycles of 7 days. Throughout the training we incorporate the wisdom of the Chakana, using the 3 worlds (Lower, Middle & Upper) from Shamanic teachings and traditions of the Native Americans of the Andean Mountains to heal our wounds and shadows so we can step into the journey of our own souls and manifest the beauty of our dreams into existence. The flow of the training is as follows (subject to change):
Day 1 – Arrival: optional restorative yoga class at 4:00. Opening circle and dinner at 6:00.
Day 2-7 – Lower World, Serpent
Day 8 – Day Off
Day 9-14 – Middle World, Puma
Day 15 – Day Off
Day 16-20 – Upper World, Condor
Day 21 – Meditation, co-creation yoga class, brunch and departures
Days Off – On days off you may hang out at Present Moment and relax or take day trips. Present Moment can arrange everything for you. Some options include: surfing, horseback riding, hiking, kayaking, a trip to town or just being.
Daily Schedule -
Please visit our Daily Schedule page for more information.
Arrival - Once you have bought your plane ticket, please email Present Moment with your arrival information. The Present Moment staff will help coordinate transportation from the airport to Present Moment Retreat Center. Taxi fare is around $65 per taxi, and they will do their best to create ride-shares. Present Moment's email address is email@example.com.
Sick Days/Missed Classes - Full participation is required to complete the program. 3 hours of missed classes with a valid reason will be excused without makeup. Any additional hours missed will require an action plan as to how hours can be completed. If additional facilitator time is required to work with a student to make up hours, an additional cost of $50 per hour will incur.
Certification - At the end of the course, you will receive your 200-hr Yoga Teacher Certification. This course is approved by Yoga Alliance, so as a graduate of this program you will qualify to register as a teacher with the Yoga Alliance organization if you choose to do so.
What to Pack - Bring clothes for yoga and comfortable clothes to hang out in. Make sure you bring your bathing suit and sun protection. It is best to bring all your toiletries and medications you will need as well. Bring your yoga mat, and a notebook. If you plan to do hiking or horseback riding, bring a hat, and appropriate pants and shoes. You may want to bring an umbrella as there is a slight chance of rain, but usually this occurs at night. The weather is warm…the days are mostly sunny and in the high 80’s. So pack light…short sleeves, tanks, shorts, sandals, sarongs, etc. You may want a light long sleeve shirt or hoodie, but for the most part, less is more. You do not need to bring straps, blocks or any yoga props other than your mat. If you do not have a mat or cannot bring one, we do have extras on site, but it is best to bring your own if possible. There is wireless service on site if you would like to bring your own computer or wireless device. However, in order to stay focused, we recommend trying to unplug from technology as much as possible during your stay.

Money/ATMs - There is one ATM in Troncones which sometimes works. So, we recommend to exchange money or withdraw cash in the airport when you land. Since you have already paid for your room and food, you can bring little extra money if you choose. You will need money for the taxi from the airport and back. You might also want to go shopping in the nearby town, take a day trip on your day off, rent a surfboard, take a horseback ride on the beach or anything else that you enjoy. There are ATMs at the airport and a cash exchange booth there as well. You will be able to run a tab at Present Moment and pay your in-house expenses by credit card.
Check in - Upon arrival, you will be checked at the front office, guided you through a short orientation and brought to you to your room. Present Moment will confirm your full payment, and have a tab available for you during your stay. This way, if you have additional expenses like excursions, massages or extra food/beverages, you can add them to your tab, which you can pay by either cash or credit card at the end of your stay. If you would like to leave tips for any of the staff, this can be added to your tab as well.
Laundry - There is laundry service available for a fee at Present Moment, or if you prefer, you can walk into town and drop off your laundry at the laundromat.
Food - The menu is vegetarian with vegan and raw options. If you have certain dietary needs or restrictions, please let the staff at Present Moment know if you haven't already. The restaurant and juice/smoothie bar is open all day if you need to order something outside of our scheduled meals.
Water - There is purified water throughout Present Moment, and there is bottled water available in the restaurant. For environmental purposes and convenience, you may want to bring a water bottle that you can refill.
