This 200-hour training integrates traditional yoga practices with holistic principles to provide a deeply spiritual and comprehensive education. Rooted in Hatha, Vinyasa, and ancient wisdom traditions, the curriculum weaves together asanas, meditation, pranayama, philosophy, and anatomy. Unique to the Kula Collective, the training also incorporates sacred ceremonies inspired by the Mayan Cosmovision, offering a profound connection to the local culture and an integrative path to transformation. Upon completion, participants are certified through Yoga Alliance, opening the door to teaching opportunities worldwide.

Meet Your Kula Founder Facilitators…

Jessi Luna

Since a young age, Jessi has studied dance and creative movement. Since her first RYT200 in 2008, Jessi has led retreats and workshops throughout the US, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Bali, and Costa Rica. She completed her RYT500 Certification in 2012 and now leads teacher trainings in places she most enjoys to share.

Jessi teaches a Vinyasa based practice to combine elements of dance and natural movement with traditional yogic sequencing. She incorporates attention to rhythm of the breath and allows for organic movement to flow in each pose. She is grateful for the journey of yogic creativity and loves to share this movement of bliss with others along the way. 

Jessi, along with her husband Zach and her parents, created Seven Springs Retreat Center in her mountain home of East Tennessee. Inspired by retreat centers from around the world, Seven Springs provides a natural and holistic space for local and global communities to experience high quality holistic education in the United States. Retreats offered vary from yoga, massage, natural medicines and foods, creativity, social innovation, team-building, eco-building and permaculture.

 

Randi Schiffman

Randi’s open heart, affectionate manner and infectious laugh create an instant environment of friendship and authenticity. A true pollinator of people, her direct communication, sense of humor and energizing, activating manner allow for deep work to be done with a sense of playful acceptance for what is.

Randi ERYT 500 has taught over 50 yoga teacher trainings since 2010. Her expertise is in sharing Holistic Yoga, a well rounded practice including meditation, pranayama, mudra, bandha, mantra, theme weaving and intelligent sequencing. A certified Thai Massage Therapist, she is especially known for her firm and intuitive based hands on assists.  She facilitates with a strong energy and passion for the practice which supports her compassionate, graceful and empathic nature. She has an innate ability to take in knowledge, experience it, and share wisdom in an authentic way.

 

Zachary Townesmith

Zachary inspires participation and thoughtful consensus in a wide array of groups. He is dedicated to developing intercultural relations and facilitating innovative solutions for regenerative well-being. 

His Cum Laude B.A. from Harvard College led him to explore issues of privilege and work for justice from his hometown of Philadelphia to the Guatemala City garbage dump. This work has taken him throughout the Americas engaging diverse stakeholders in strategic planning through the development of creative and critical thinking in fields such as education, public health, business, creative industries, and entrepreneurship. 

His 500hr Yoga Teacher training instills a diversity and depth to his facilitation. He embodies these ancient practices in ways that are socially relevant and culturally appropriate

He believes that interpersonal relationships and creativity are the keys to regenerative enterprise, and works in settings ranging from corporate board rooms to dirt-floored rural schools.  His multi-cultural and multi-lingual fluency are valuable assets as groups develop and maintain creative environments of respect and trust. Zach brings a deep love of learning and leads the evaluation process of the Kula Collective YTT curricula. In order to evaluate students’ learning and to support their integration he adapted the Flow Design process to fit in to all Kula teacher training certifications. This ensures that all graduates have honed their personal Vision and designed a 90-day plan to begin to integrate their experiences into the rest of their lives.

Casa Kula is the Guatemalan home of Coby and Ananda, two of our Kula Collective co-founders. It is an eco-friendly and nourishing space, filled with all the comforts of home, including healing herbs, tropical fruits, loving animals and warm smiles. Casa Kula is located in Tzununa, in the western highlands of Guatemala, with stunning views of the serene Lake Atitlan and her volcanoes seen through banana palms, avocado trees and lush green coffee forests.

Every 4th day of the 8 day cycle is a half day, and every 8th day a full day of Self Sadhana.
