About this Yoga Teacher Training

Held by the strength and beauty of the Mountains, we will immerse ourselves in the holistic paths of Yoga. In this journey, we call upon the wisdom of nature and the reflection of the wisdom that resides deep in your heart and soul.  Feel enlivened by the wild beauty of the Smoky Mountains and the power of your own depth, as we uncover the true teacher within.

This 200-hr YTT in Maryville, TN is an exciting hybrid of Kula magic giving you the opportunity to experience both immersion and community as well as connecting and learning virtually. It explores a fusion of the practice and philosophy of the traditions of Yoga, Shamanism, Ancient Wisdom, and Sound Healing. Step into the ancient Wisdom of Self (Vidya), as we journey through the Shamanic Worlds, experiencing Yoga as union with the Divine.

Join us and awaken your power while connecting to conscious community and experiencing the medicine of the Tennessee mountains.

During this three month journey, we meet twice a month on Saturday and Sunday at either Seven Springs or Yoga Mix for in-person workshops. These give you time to be with one another physically, learn and grow in community, and soak up the sweet mountain medicine. One or two weekends a month we meet virtually as a collective, having the opportunity to learn from Kula founders and various teachers across the world. This training also includes a 2 day immersion at Seven Springs Retreats (Sept 14-15), giving you the ability to retreat, get quiet, and immerse yourself in the teachings of the land, Yoga and the wisdom in your own heart. In addition, online content and assignments are provided throughout the weeks to guide you and deepen your understanding and practice of the Yogic teachings. Finally, this course includes a special 3 month unlimited membership to Yoga Mix, where you may take classes from the unique styles and teachers.

Meet Your Kula Facilitators…

Guest Facilitator

Haley Duggan

Haley Duggan is a yoga teacher, health and wellness coach, and Reiki Master. Similar to many of us stumbling our way to a yoga mat, Haley was drawn to practice through injury recovery after her college swimming career ended.  She completed her 200HR teacher training at Yoga Masala in 2014 through Rolf Gates curriculum, as she was finishing her Masters in Public Health from USC. Since then has studied restorative yoga with Judith Hanson Lassater and Roger Cole.

Additionally Haley has in depth anatomy experience through Lara Heimann, Jason Candell, and Tiffany Cruikshank. Haley has also co-led five cohorts of 200 hour vinyasa teacher trainings under Rolf Gates’ affiliate program at Yoga Masala and two cohorts of 200 hour vinyasa trainings at YogaLab Birmingham with Pilar Taylor.

Her passion is empowering others to connect to their authentic self through the practice.

Her style is feisty and powerful with a focus on functional and sustainable movements on the mat.

Kula Facilitator

JESSI LUNA

Since a young age, Jessi has studied dance and creative movement. Since her first RYT200 in 2008, Jessi has led retreats and workshops throughout the US, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Bali, and Costa Rica. She completed her RYT500 Certification in 2012 and now leads teacher trainings in places she most enjoys to share.

Jessi teaches a Vinyasa based practice to combine elements of dance and natural movement with traditional yogic sequencing. She incorporates attention to rhythm of the breath and allows for organic movement to flow in each pose. She is grateful for the journey of yogic creativity and loves to share this movement of bliss with others along the way.

Jessi, along with her husband Zach and her parents, created Seven Springs Retreat Center in her mountain home of East Tennessee. Inspired by retreat centers from around the world, Seven Springs provides a natural and holistic space for local and global communities to experience high quality holistic education in the United States. Retreats offered vary from yoga, massage, natural medicines and foods, creativity, social innovation, team-building, eco-building and permaculture.

Guest Facilitator

Amanda Hatcher

With over two decades of experience in yoga, Amanda Hatcher is a trusted figure in the wellness community. She began her journey over 20 years ago and holds a 200-hour certification from the Asheville Yoga Center. Amanda's expertise extends beyond traditional yoga training; she has honed her skill in hands-on adjustments through extensive training with Philip Clift and holds certification in Thai Yoga Therapy Training with Kelly Scott.

Though she currently holds a 200-hour certification, Amanda's knowledge and experience are vast, totaling thousands of hours of credited learning experience. Throughout her career, she has taught well over 14,000 classes, providing invaluable guidance to countless students on their yoga journey.

Before founding The Yoga Mix, Amanda taught yoga for 16 years at her local hometown gym and also led classes in Yoga and Kickboxing in the lower level of her husband's dojo. Her dedication to her students and passion for fostering community led her to establish The Yoga Mix, which quickly became a haven for practitioners seeking not just physical practice, but also connection and support.

In addition to her dedication to yoga and wellness, Amanda is a proud mother of two wonderful boys, now 18 and 21 years old. Beyond her role as a yoga teacher, Amanda holds a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, embodying the principles of discipline and mindfulness both on and off the mat. Through her compassionate guidance and personal journey, Amanda invites each practitioner to embrace wellness, resilience, and self-discovery on their own path to wholeness.

 About Seven Springs

Seven Springs is the Tennessee home of Zach and Jessi, two of our Kula Collective co-founders. The family spirit is strong here: Jessi’s grandmother and parents have been homesteading the land for almost fifty years. From building to managing to mowing the grass, it takes all four generations to keep it up.

Set on 126 acres of secluded forest, this is the perfect place to disconnect and reconnect. It has come a long way in six years, earning the title of #1 meditation retreat center in Success Magazine (sep/22).

Gather for practice on our hand-built shala with local cedar posts. Nourish yourself with Olivia’s hearty local vegan and vegetarian cuisine. Fill your cup with crystal clear spring water. Walk the creek between our springs among old growth hardwoods. Get out to explore & hike Great Smoky Mountain National park just a short drive away. Just 25 minutes from the Knoxville airport and within a day’s drive of so many cities, getting away from it all has never been this easy.

Hear From Our Students

I can’t begin to describe how meaningful this training was and continues to be for me. It was powerful on every level: mind, body, soul, spirit. It was challenging and empowering on every level. It was healing on every level. I’m incredibly, incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to learn and grow with the Kula. Kula is unique and holistic beyond words. The training was deep, grounded, thoughtful, well-rounded, ceremonial, and authentic (truly words don’t even begin to scratch the surface). I have the sense that Kula is founded on love and dedication, and this love permeated throughout every part of the training. I am deeply honored to have had the opportunity to train with Kula.
